This Health and Fitness Expo is focused on uncovering
healthy modes of activity which effect social change.
Beacon Leadership and Services Team (BLAST), Athletics
and Health Services (Health and Wellness) are
collaborating to provide the UMass Boston community
with a free informational Expo to educate our campus
on topics related to Health, Wellness and Fitness. Our
purpose is to inform our community by providing common
ways to enrich quality of life by making small
lifestyle changes. While additionally educating
students, staff and faculty of the cause and effects
of known chronic diseases with affect our population.

Melrose Family Wellness and Fitness Fair

Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School

The fair, co-sponsored by the city of Melrose and
Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, will bring together more
than 40 vendors from local health and fitness
businesses, as well as Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods
Markets, Stonyfield Farms and Cabot Cheese. The fair,
which drew between 800 and 1,000 attendees when it was
held at Memorial Hall last year, will also provide a
bevy of opportunities for people to lace up their
sneakers and try out new exercises, ranging from mixed
martial arts to a class for seniors on improving their
